Knitting disaster

I have just spent a significant portion of time trying to separate my knitting-in-progress (orange pullover for nephew A) from dried out, moldy grapefruit. And rinse from the yarn all the mold-dust.

How did this happen? Well.... It started with my love of Oro Blanco grapefruits. Which are something special. They grow in Southern California and are available all over there. Oro Blancos are a bit more elusive here in No Cal. Sigh. So, I bought a couple last week at Berkeley Bowl. I took them with me when I went to visit J. last week--one for S. and one for J. S. got hers. J. did not. Rachel left the Oro Blanco in the bag with the knitting.

Thus, knitting disaster.

(Grumble grumble.)

The Oro Blanco basically had dissolved inside into liquid and molded and dried-out outside. The smell was interesting though... very reminicent of citrus-based cleaners.

I'm going to console myself with my as-yet-unfinished Curvy scarf.

I am in love with Pandora.... more on that later. Right now, I'm just going to bask in the brilliance of a system that finds music that appeals to my Blur-Talking Heads-Paul Simon-No Doubt-Robbie Williams-loving eccentricity.
